The APO have "Drop-in" & Safe Home centers. The "Drop-in" Center targeted 100 sexually abused and exploited children operating in the main market area. The children are provided with washing and laundry service, health and sex education, medical treatment, non-formal education, play and recreation, individual and group guidance and counseling, reintegration and skill training.

Girls Club Program

The Formal School Intervention Program is directed towards reducing the high drop-out rate of girl students in two high schools and two junior schools in Addis Ababa and in the regions. The objectives of the project is to raise the awareness of girl students on the dangers of sexual abuse and exploitation, reproductive health and related issues and improve their educational performance through creating conducive and supportive environment in the schools. The strategy used in the program is the establishment of "Girls club" targeting girl student who are in the verge of dropping out of schools.

Community-Based Prevention and Support Project for Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children:-

Operates in three Kebeles where the "Drop in" Center is located, and involves the community by providing the necessary information, skills and services for families, youth, traditional associations, police, schools, health institutions, etc. on the causes and magnitudes of the problem to involve them in the prevention and problem solving process.

Public Awareness Raising:

TIt is organized in order to involve the general public and different sections of the society in the prevention and support activities of urban disadvantaged children in general and sexual abuse and exploitation of children in particular. Different training programs on drug and substance abuse, community mobilization, etc. are organized targeting community leaders, traditional associations, schools, police officers, bar/ hotel owners, families and concerned groups so that they can participate in the problem solving process.
